With Thanksgiving right around the corner the exotic super car constructor Ferrari is giving a whole new meaning to Black Friday with the a stocking stuffer that is sure to make any car guy’s Christmas morning. That is because the Italian sports car builder’s boutique division has just come out with a new limited edition timepiece that makes good use of the dark wavy stuff. Not only is the Ferrari Paddock Chronograph made from lightweight and durable carbon fiber, but so are the cufflinks that it comes with and the display case that they come in. The package is priced at a very reasonable $1,050, especially considering that it wears a ********ed prancing horse on the backside and the fact that the last luxury car inspired watch that we came across was the $40,000 Jaeger-LeCoultre that would open your Aston Martin DBS Volante. Although as much of a steal as it may seem to be, you had better hurry over to Ferrari’s web site because there can only be 299 smiles on December 25th, and did we mention that it would go great with a new 458 Italia, just a thought.

Ferrari details


A new Ferrari Limited Edition in just 299 pieces of Ferrari Paddock Chronograph exclusively for Ferrari online customers. This unique bundle includes the Ferrari Paddock Chronograph in Black/Carbon version combined with a pair of cufflinks with Prancing Horse logo enamelled on carbon fibre base in stainless steel with black titan colour finishing. Both item versions exclusively for online customers. This made-in-Italy, handmade jewel case is crafted in shiny white lacquered wood, inside enriched with carbon fibre details, a limited edition plate and removable multifunctional cases.

The Ferrari Paddock Chronograph is Swiss Made, has a 42mm diameter stainless steel case with black PVD coating, sapphire flat hardened with anti-glare coating and black dial in carbon fibre pattern and Ferrari Shield logo. Case back with six screws and Ferrari Shield embossed, 10ATM water resistant, screw-down crown and push-buttons. Genuine leather strap in black colour with red contrasting stitching and black butterfly buckle with 2-pushers in black PVD plating. Swiss Quartz Movement, Cal. Ronda 5050.C. Each watch carries its individual Limited Edition number engraved on the case back.

First spotted last year, the Swiss timepiece capable of locking and unlocking the DBS from a distance of 10-meters has had a rough time making the transponder reliable due to the mechanical watch's impact on electrical fields -- a Faraday Cage of sorts. The solution was to craft a 128-mm sapphire and metal antenna inserted into the curve of the inner bezel ring. Man servants and gold diggers will find the watch at fine retail shops sometime around December.
